Its raining, its pouring, Bailey & Tim are married!

March 10, 2012
Bailey Browning and Timothy Pope Reception

Spring Break at the Wellington kicked off with a wedding, of course! A little rain didn’t stop Bailey and Tim from celebrating their vows with 190 of their closest friends and family. They had a very intimate ceremony in Bailey’s home town church of Blue Grove, TX. Then everyone weathered the storm and made the drive back to Wichita Falls to kick off the reception.  Bailey’s mom, Cheryl, went above and beyond for this beautiful bride. She worked really hard to give her daughter the perfect Spring time wedding. She made all of the centerpieces and used really bright, bold colors like orange, lime green, and purple. Jessica Bailey with J. Bailey Photography did a great job on the pictures. The now, Mrs. Pope, even had Jessica come out to the Wellington to shoot Bailey’s bridal portraits before the wedding. Kathy’s Bakery catered the event and did the cakes. The brides cake was classic with pretty flowers on top. The groom, however, was surprised with something a little bit more his style. In the grooms honor cake bites in the shape of mini footballs were served to the guests. Bailey’s Uncle even went as far as creating a football field for the table! It was such a clever idea! DJ Jeff with DJ Connection out of Dallas really knew how to work this crowd. He came out from behind those speakers and taught everyone to boot scoot boogey and to do the dougie! Even though rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck, I don’t think these two will need it. It was so obvious that they are already lucky in love just by the way Tim was looking at his gorgeous bride all evening.

To Tim and Bailey- Thank you for letting the Wellington be a small part of your big day! It was so much fun getting to know you guys and your families over the past year. You two have something very special together so don’t ever let it go!

Kaylee Cantrell & Andrew Cadotte Ceremony & Reception

Last Sunday while everyone was kicked back on the couch waiting for the big game to start, we were trying to get ready for Kaylee and Andrew's big day! Kaylee, with the help of her wonderful mom and maid of honor, put together a very intimate Sunday afternoon ceremony and reception. The couple said their vows in front of about 100 of their closest family and friends. After the ceremony, while the wedding party took pictures, the guests enjoyed light appetizers and conversation. It was obvious from all of the smiles and laughter everyone was having a great time catching up. After the cakes were cut, it was time for the toasts. The best man showed his humorous side, while the maid of honor had some very touching and heart warming words for Andrew and Kaylee. As the reception came to an end, the bride and groom were sent off by a sea of bubbles. They rode away in an old red Corvette just in time for kickoff.

To Mr. & Mrs. Cadotte- You guys are so cute together! Thank you so much for allowing the Wellington to be a part of your special day! We wish you many years of happiness and love!

Happily Ever After Starts Here.

Hey there! I am actually feeling quite creative this morning and thought I would use this time to catch up on some blogging. Lets see here. I believe that we left off with Mr. and Mrs. Delgato last time. That means that we are going back to October and starting this posting off with Mr. and Mrs. Luiken.

October 29, 2011
Anna Kelley and Tony Luiken Reception

Anna and her mom, Sharon, were absolutley terrific to work with! They did a fantastic job of turning the Ballroom into something Tony and Anna would never forget. The lovely ladies over at Sincerely Your's Florist and Unique Gifts did the florals, and as always did a fantastic job. The musical stylings were provided by Rick Hatcher. After Monarch served up some delicious food, it was time for the dancing to begin! Between the smores station on the terrace and the photo booth inside, Anna and Tony's guests had plenty of fun waiting on them all night. We sent the newlyweds off through a sea of sparklers that gave Kelly Kate Photography the chance to take some really great pictures.

To Mr. & Mrs. Luiken: Thank you for letting the Wellington be a part of your special day! You two are so blessed to have found each other! Good luck in Alaska!! Stay warm!

Monica Munoz and Nestor Galicia Ceremony & Reception

Monica and Nestor were so much fun to work with! They played the Cupid Shuffle just for me! We held the ceremony on the terrace for about 100 of the couples closest family and friends. Monica was a gorgeous bride. After the ceremony we made our way into the Ballroom, and then the rest of party showed up. The reception was so much fun I did not want the night to end! The DJ pointed a camera on the dance floor that projected onto the wall, and really made this place look like a night club in Dallas or something. It was amazing! To Mr. and Mrs. Galicia THANK YOU so much for trusting the Wellington on your big day! And please send us some pictures so we can show you guys off to everyone!

Meredith Humpreys and Brian Crowe

Meredith is so sweet! We just love her so much here at the Wellington! She really knew what she was doing when she let the Two Clever Chicks take the reigns on her big day! They created the perfect Fall reception. They used lots of oranges, browns, and ivorys that played very well with the colors of the Wellington. The food was provided by G-Texas Custom Catering out of Ft. Worth, and they did a great job! Brian and Meredith decided to have Dazey Chain, also out of Ft. Worth, entertain the guests on the dance floor with their original melodies and renditions of their favorite hits reaching back to the '60s & '70s. Kelly Kate Photography caught some awesome images of the newlyweds and the building. The night always has to come to an end, and this ending was one for the books. The couple made their exit in the coolest most classic car in Wichita Falls.

To Mr. and Mrs. Crowe: Thank you so much for letting the Wellington be a small part in your big day! We know you guys are going be very happy together for many years to come!

Jennifer Tansey and Mark Briley Reception

This particular wedding hits very close to home for us here at the Wellington. You see, Jennifer is the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express and the Wellington Banquet & Conference Center. The stress levels were turned up a little bit more than usual for this one, but at the end of night it was all worth it. Kim Southard with The Swanky Thing did the decor and flowers. Jennifer and Mark wanted more of a cocktail style reception so they brought in couches, bars, and a wall banquette and made this building look like a completely different space. Drive the Band out of Dallas had the dance floor packed all night! They were so good! They covered everything from "Pumped up Kicks" to the song that the father and daughter danced to "Brown Eyed Girl." Freestyle Productions brought the photo booth fun, and Monarch brought the food! Kathy's Bakery did Jennifer's cake. Mark opted for a fruit pizza instead of the traditional chocolate groom's cake. Meegan Weaver took some awesome pictures of my favorite boss and her groom as well as the building.

To Mr. and Mrs. Briley: You guys are so cute together! I am so glad that you decided to have your reception at the Wellington! Thank you! You guys are a perfect match for each other, and I know you'll be happy together for many years to come.

Lexie Nolen and Ben Prater Reception

New Years Eve is my second favorite holiday. When Lexie and her mother Connie came in last year to book on this day, I automatically knew I wanted to work this wedding. Lexie and Ben are one of the nicest couples I have ever met. Their unique ideas and personalties go so well together. Kim Southard with The Swanky Thing did a great job on the flowers and decor. Monarch did an awesome job on the food. Kathy's Bakery outdid themselves on Lexie's cake. It was so beautiful. Meegan Weaver was able to get some great shots of the couple with the firework show going on in the background. Freestyle Productions brought the music and the photo booth. After we cut the cakes the dancing officially began. Ben, Lexie and their guests danced the night away until the ball dropped and it was time to say farewell.

To Mr. and Mrs. Prater: The Wellington is so honored that you let us be a part of your day. Thank you and may all your dreams come true together.

Amanda Biddy and Landon Veitenheimer Reception

The first official reception of 2012 belongs to Amanda and Landon. Amanda's great taste shined through her reception decor. This wedding was rustic chic to say the least. The very talented ladies at Sincerely Yours Florist and Unique Gifts did such a great job on the flowers. They really nailed the look Amanada was going for. Monarch did what they do best and made sure everyone was fed and full. Kathy's Bakery kept the theme going with Amanda's light blue wedding cake. Freestyle Productions, once again, brought the photo booth fun, and Deedra with Photo[e]motion Photography captured all of those once in a lifetime moments.

To Mr. & Mrs.Veitenheimer: The Wellington wishes you two and Rody many years of love and happiness together! Thank you!

Bridal Market 2012

Hi everyone! Well its officially 2012 and January always has us thinking about one big event in particular... the Bridal Market sponsored by KFDX. Now how do you think you showcase a 9000 square foot building into a 10x10 booth? You make it gold and shiney!! We had so much fun talking with our new brides and even catching up with some of our past brides! The fantastic Ms. Shirley over at Surley Sweets made us cake balls that had people flocking from all ends of the MPEC to try their tastey goodness. The chocolate raspberry were my favorite! Ria's Flowers made us a very elegant yet unique white floral arrangment that had many brides just stopping by to take a picture of. Lauren Pinson Photography took some great pictures for us to show you guys. The awesome ladies over at Creative Portriaits also made us this great slide show that we played for all of the brides to be! Take a look! http://video214.com/play/9fsDJe5oNZOt5YsN1li6Aw/s/dark

Who's wedding is it anyways?

To my dearest Bloggers:

I apologize for not updating this as much as I should. It has been a super busy season at the Wellington. Since I have last checked in with you guys we have had seven breath taking weddings, hosted WFHS 50th high school reunion, and held many corporate events in between. It would literally take a book for me to tell you about all of the amazing people I have had the pleasure of meeting in this last month and all of the awesome things that have been going on around here…

Ashlee Mason and Justin Holcomb Ceremony and Reception

Ashlee and Justin didn’t let a little rain ruin their big day! Even though we had to move the ceremony from the terrace to the Ballroom at the last minute it was still a beautiful event! Thanks to Spring Branch for the hot pink and black decor! The Ballroom looked almost as pretty as our lovely bride! A big thank you to Kelly Trimble for sending over these great pictures!

Mr. and Mrs. Holcomb- You were such a great couple to work with! We wish you a lifetime of happiness together!

Carla King and Nathan Moran Reception

Everything about this reception was fun from the musical styling’s of the Ben Atkins band to the elegant decorations provided by Designing Spaces by Paula Hill. Monarch hit the ball out of the park with their tastey food and service! Thanks to Jessica Bailey for the awesome pictures.

WFHS Class of 1961 50th Reunion

50 years didn’t break some of the bonds that were created by the WFHS 1961 graduating class. It was obvious by all of the smiles and laughter that this night brought with it! A huge thanks to Rick Hatcher and The Bistro Express for helping make this night one to remember!

Thank you so much for making the Wellington a part of your milestone event! It was truly a honor to work with your committee and help this happen!

October 14, 2011
Chelsea Creech and Jeremy Jones Ceremony and Reception

Everything about this wedding screamed Chelsea and Jeremy. From the “Jones Soda” party favors to the gorgeous bridals Chelsea took with the Wichita Falls fire trucks. The band Anchored Rose kept the party going all night. Monarch made sure everyone was fed, and Benny Daniels did an amazing job on the cakes. Thanks to Meegan Weaver for the great pictures!

Mr. and Mrs. Jones: You two are very blessed with great family and awesome friends! I know you two are going to have a lifetime full of love and happiness. Thank you!

October 15, 2011
Amy Peterson and Zac Ward Ceremony & Reception

This ceremony and reception was unique in many ways! Amy and Zac had the help of their family friends over the last year collecting wine bottles to decorate the Ballroom with. It was such a classy fun look! I wish I would have thought of it! Paula Hill with Designing Spaces helped out in a big way by creating red rose and dark purple carnation filled centerpieces! Ballroom A was set up beautifully for a ceremony overlooking the terrace. After cocktail hour and a room switch it was time to dance the night away! The exciting sparkler exit captured some great pictures for the couple to cherish! Thanks to Shiloh Hanson with Shiloh’s Signature Weddings for coordinating such a great event!

To Amy and Zac: It was evident from your first dance that you two are made for each other! Thank you for trusting us with your big day! It was a pleasure working with you!

October 22, 2011
Shayla McGraw and Joseph Delgato Ceremony and Reception

The Two Clever Chicks went out of their way to personalize this wedding for Shayla and Jospeh. The bride got to decide on the reception décor and the groom got to pick how the terrace would be decorated for the ceremony. Shayla picked bright oranges and bold zebra stripes with ivory and brown linens. Joseph picked… softball. The Chicks took Josephs favorite sport and created a unique, yet romantic, scene for the couple to say their “I do’s.” Rick Hatcher kept everyone dancing (and updated on the Rangers score) all night. Thanks to karoke talents of the wedding party it was quite the reception.

Mr. and Mrs. Delgato- I had a great time meeting you and working with the Chicks to make your day happen! Thank you for letting the Wellington host your big day! I know your family is going to be very happy together!
